Buttonwillow's progress

Today, 10/19/11, is day #10 in my Fast 5 adventure. Day 1 and 2 were OK, day 3 was a day full of headache and general malaise, days 4 to present have been OK. A couple of times I felt very hungry and broke my fast an hour ahead of time. Over the weekend it was very hard to resist the temptation to snack (tho' I did). When I'm at work the distraction of my job keeps my mind off food.

Curiously, even a small meal or snack at my break fast is pretty satisfying. My hunger is quite strong by the time my window opens, then a little bit of food quashes it. I actually force myself to eat the equivalent of 2 meals during my 5-hour window so I won't be ravenous the next day.

I've dropped a couple of pounds. This may be the kick-start I've been looking for to break my year long plateau.

You can trust your appetite, and you may find better results by doing so. If the two-meal approach is working well, I wouldn't change it, but if you're not seeing good progress, try to avoid the temptation to eat in anticipation of being ravenous. If you have extra fuel (fat) on your body, your body will find it and use it instead.

I hope your days have improved!

No "progress" since my last post. My weight fluctuates the same 2-3 pounds, as before Fast-5. My high hopes for dropping a pound a week, thus achieving a 10 pound loss by Christmas, will not come to pass. Nonetheless, this way of eating is easy and convenient so there's no reason to abandon it. Hopefully, something will shake loose somewhere down the road.
