consuming less than 1000 calories a day

HI i am new to fast-5 and jumped right into the lifestyle 4 days ago with no problem; however, today was a bit challenging for me to make it to the 19th hour for some reason even though i made it yesterday, so i only made it till the 17th hour before i had to cave in and eat something. Not surprising i was full after 1/2 of shredded wheat cereal and whol organic milk (1 cup). I drink a lot of water and had 20oz coffe from starbucks. I had my dinner and even a piece of candy and i still only got to 1042 kcal before my window closed. 1024 kcal is the first time since i started the program that i was up to 1000 usually its between 600-900 and this is not on purpose, i just end up getting full before i can keep eating before my window closes.

about me im 5'7 started orignially at 288, started fast-5 at 268 today im 262.4.
i do aeorpilates on one day, other day silm in 6 with resistance bands and sometimes power 90 although im supper bored with power 90 its definietly not for women so i ll stick with the silm in 6 and aeropilates, i work out about 6 days a week and im always drenched after and usually sore everyday but with the fasting i definitely have not been nearly as sore as i have been in the past.

question: what should i do about not being able to consume as many calories as i probably should (especially since im working out cardio/ resistance bands/ resistance training) which i was told by some online program that 1800-1500 is ideal for weight loss and anything under that is dangerous, but i feel fine, great even, except for the hours closer to my 19th hour but i know this will get better so im not worried about that. should i open my window longer to get in more calories? or should i force myself to eat more? (not really down with this idea lol)
pls help

thanks

I'm 5'7", started at 247, have been at it for 3 weeks, and am down to 233. I'm 31 and have battled my weight my ENTIRE life, weighing in at over 300 pounds at one time. I lost 100 lbs. about 10 years ago by exercising and eating less than 20G of fat per day. I kept it off for about 8 years, and then put roughly 60 back on. I then went on the Dukan Diet (similar to Atkins, but much more strict - nothing allowed but lean protein & vegetables, and some days just pure protein). With that diet, I eventually got down to 195, but it just wasn't maintainable. That was in 2010, and as you can see from the weight I started at, I put almost all of it back on. When I began to read about IF, it just made sense for me. I am not a person who is hungry 6 times a day. I'm really only hungry once or twice a day, and usually only once for a BIG meal, and then a snack before bed. When I began the IF, I started with the Warrior Diet window of only 4 hours. I switched just yesterday to the Fast 5 five hour window, and I'm positive that this is the right choice. When I was waiting until 6 PM to eat, that last hour was really a stretch. However, I don't just eat whatever I want. I use MyFitnessPal.com, and for the first time in my life, I'm counting calories. That is a good thing. I don't obsess over them. If I'm a little over or under, it doesn't bother me. Also, I only eat whole grains, and complex carbs, not junk. No white potatoes, pasta, sugar, etc. This is probably easier for me because I'm used to the Dukan Diet, so being able to enjoy a Subway sandwich is amazing! I feel like allowing myself healthy carbs has really allowed me to stop thinking about food so much. My target calorie intake is 1240 per day, and there are many days that I am under. My point is, just listen to your body. Eat when you're hungry. Don't force yourself to eat if you're not. There are a million people that will tell you that eating under X number of calories per day is dangerous. Those same people would telly you that the Fast 5 approach altogether is dangerous. So, if you feel fine, just go with it. If you start to feel lethargic, you'll eat more. Just listen to your body, believe me, it knows best.

Thank you so much for your response and sharing your story with me. It has been a while now since I have been doing IF and things have been great sometimes I have a 5 hour eating window some days 4 some days 6 hours! It just depends on how I feel and you are definitely right i am just listening to my body and eat if I need to but the need is becoming less and less which has been helping me a ton with my obsesion over snacking! Well the one I use to have lol so far I'm at 254 and slowly but surely the weight is coming off. However I am now obsessing over total fasting I just feel so calm when I fast and I love that feeling because I am normally a person who is irritably or easily angered and IF and a 24 hour fast here and there (usually 36 hours) is really changing my personality for the better I just don't know if it can be too much you know? These week I'm embarking on the the master cleanse which is a 10 day fast but I'm going to push for 14 days take a week off (still doing IF) and then try another master cleanse. Too much? I don't know. But I'm gonna give it a shot. Let me know what u think. Again thanks for being the only responder to my question I do appreciate your feedback
