almond milk
What's important is this: How does it work for you? If it doesn't impair weight loss for you, then it's fine. What I think doesn't really matter, because the goal here is for every individual to find something that works and is sustainable. If you have found that, then I'm certainly not going to mess with it.
That doesn't mean I'd recommend it for everyone, though, because it does have calorie content and could trigger limbic hunger. If someone has to have something in his/her coffee, I generally recommend real cream (not half-and-half) because real cream is nearly pure fat, which unlike protein and carbohydrates, will not trigger insulin release (psychological effects may come into play, though).
It only takes a little cream to get the "creamy" effect, so using as little as possible to get the necessary drinkability is a good option if black coffee isn't acceptable.
