15 pounds lost in <4 weeks - normal?

Hi guys,

So I've been doing IF/F5 for less than 4 weeks and I weighed myself for the first time today. I've lost 15 pounds (nearly 7 kg).

I'm a little worried, even though I guess a lot of that is water weight? I wouldn't worry except that I now weigh 102 pounds (46.5kg). Which is equal to the lightest Ive been. When I started 4 weeks ago I weighed 117 .5 pounds (54 kg) and my ideal weight (I thought) was around 50 - 52kg.

Basically though I think I just need to start building muscle now? I'm sure it will fluctuate and some of that weight will come back.

I, too, lost a fairly large amount of weight in the beginning - 14 lbs. in 3 weeks. HOWEVER, I began much more overweight than you. I started at 247, lost 6 lbs. the first week, 7 the second, and then it leveled off to 1 pound the third week. This is pretty common for people who have a lot of weigh to lose, but dropping 15 pounds at your already low weight sounds like a lot. I don't know how tall you are, but I don't think it matters that much. I am not a Dr. or dietician, so I can't tell you what to do from here, but I just wanted to tell you my experience to give you a frame of reference since we started around the same time. Good luck!

Dear Gypsy,

I am no doctor, but I think I might have the answer. But first:

1. I assume you're a girl (woman), right? I can hardly believe any man would weigh 46.5.
2. Given your low starting weight, I assume you never really had a weight problem, right?

If so, you might simply be a person, who loses weigh easily, and should therefore be careful not to weigh too little. Remeber, that you can eat more than one meal during the 5h window, and that calories matter. If you eat too little, you can harm yourself seriously - I don't want to scare you, but you are close to underweight (or already are, how tall are you?).

Well, on the other hand some people are just naturally really petite, you might well be one of them. Building muscles is a great idea, but do not forget to eat! :D
