Where is everyone? is this a 'not popular' or 'unknown' diet or forum?

I just signed up yesterday. Fasted yesterday till dinner time and had dinner... today am doing the same. I noticed there is hardly anyone posting? Is this forum just unknown? I imagine if this works, it will catch on like wildfire. Just curious why this place is so quiet.

Hi Paul and welcome. No, there is not much posting on this site. On the homepage here, there are a couple of other links you can go to to find out more info. Myself, I check this site most days and post once a week regarding my weight. Good luck on your journey....

I come here for advice and no one here to talk to..... what's up with that? The must not be advertising it anywhere.

This is the newest forum for Fast-5; it's only been around since March, 2010. The Facebook group and the Yahoo group are much busier; the Yahoo group has been around the longest, has about 1,500 members and multiple posts daily. In regards to advertising, you are correct, there is no advertising for Fast-5. This website is hosted by the non-profit Fast-5 Corporation, which is the author (me) working as a volunteer. The money from the sale of books (which isn't much as Amazon keeps more than half of the sales price) and the occasional donation keep this website going and keep the downloadable e-book freely available.

Fast-5 has spread worldwide without advertising because it works well, it's sustainable, it's free, and people are sharing their success with friends and family.

If you have questions, please look first at the FAQ and Summary pages on this website. If you still have questions or concerns and you don't get replies to comments posted here or on the Yahoo group, your email to info @ fast-5 . com will be answered promptly.

Ohhh I didn't realize that it was so recent. What can we do to get more people here? I would like to be more involved in something like this. What can I do to get more involved?

It's nice of you to offer to get more involved. Just chatting in this forum and being patient with its kinda-clunky interface is helpful. If someone asks a question, give your best shot, even if it's "I don't know" -- just go on your personal experience and what you've read. I try to keep up with these 3 Fast-5 forums (Yahoo, Facebook and here) but can miss things. So if you see something like a question that's gone unanswered for more than 24 hours and don't feel like you know the answer, feel free to send me an email (at the info address) to nudge my attention to it. This works on a very skinny budget, but it does work and grow. With more money, I'd do more education (advertising, in a way, but it wouldn't be selling anything) to encourage more people to give it a try. The current approach is gaining momentum, albeit slowly. I have to remind myself sometimes that in 2005, Fast-5 was just a nameless thing my wife and I did, and now I get emails from India, Australia and South Africa about it, and it's all been due to people talking to each other with help from the Internet.

Mostly, you can do is what others have done: try it, and if it works for you, share it with friends & family. Word from a trusted friend or family member is worth more than ten thousand advertisements, and seeing (results) is believing.

Happy holidays!

The spam you referred to has been removed (I think.) Thanks for pointing it out.

I found the Yahoo groups for Fast-5 to be much more active in case you need more advice.

The yahoo group for Fast-5 is a bit more active than this forum, and a bit more user-friendly to navigate as well.

Seriously, it's hard to see a thread. UBB is what I'm used to. And of course Facebook and Yahoo have their own things, too. I don't know what forum software is being used, but it's not pretty and not user friendly.

I come on when I'm feeling extra good about fasting.
